Crown area is considered very challenging when it comes to getting good result . We have achieved this result and it may keep improving up to 12-15 months . We have achieved the natural looking hairline.
Challenge: It’s relatively easy to hair transplant but it’s one of the most difficult when we deliver undetectable hairline with higher density.

Revision Surgery Day 0 – Day 180
Hair Transplant Revision
This surgery is partly clinical skill and partly art form. We have been seeing a lot of patients coming to our clinic for revision surgery, person who is not happy with past hair transplant is willing to undergo second trial.
We need to understand from patient’s point of view when we treat. Already apart from physical appearance person is more drained mentally and then in order to improve the look or maintain certain social status they undergo such treatments. When the move backfire to look good they become more desperate and try to judge entire field of “Hair Transplant “. We deal with such cases time and again.
We are sharing the middle aged man who had underwent hair transplant surgery 1 year back. He was not happy with the way hairline was exaggeratedly pushed forward plus temple triangle was also coming closer to eyebrows. We have also noticed the crown area baldness was not treated.
We had few challenges
- Perform extraction of the hairline grafts and create nice and natural looking hairline
- Fill the crown area baldness
- Avoid scarring of hairline area while doing extraction ( we used later to combat this issue )
- Scalp Donor area was exhausted so we have to limit our grafts traction from back of the head area
We are sharing 6 months transformation result
Age of patient: 47
Grade of baldness: 6
Grafts: 4500
Previous type of surgery: FUE
Grafts implanted: Patient was informed about 4000 grafts in previous surgery
Challenge in revision surgery: Because of previous surgery, donor area is limited plus scarring of the area makes more difficult when it comes to graft harvesting (extraction)
Revision surgery grafts: 4230. We could successfully implant these many grafts.
Duration: Result is shown after 5 months of second surgery however final result is expected around 8-10 months
Challenge: You can see how badly the hairline was given at the same time density was also next to nil.
Procedure: We used 4600 grafts in surgery out of which 800 grafts were fro beard and we covered his grads 6 baldness. One can look even amount of damage done during first surgery , roughly 500-600 grafts were implanted and they might have damaged more than 2500 grafts. So that loss is irreversible. Choosing a right clinic is very important.
Results: We gave uniformly high density and you can appreciate difference in 7 days
Grade of baldness: 3
Age: 30
Challenge: straight and poorly done hairline. Scarring on front area Scarring on donor area also hampers the harvesting process, that’s because previous surgery was done in very poorly maintained clinic.
Result after 6 months post revision.
26 Male
Side by side comparison was done at 6 months following sapphire FUE hair transplant.
Patient wanted further improvement so we did scalp micro pigment plus he is on minoxidil for one year . Solo image was taken one year after he came to clinic.
So final outcome is because of FUE, MINOXIDIL, SCALP MICRO PIGMENT.
Number of grafts implanted for SAPPHIRE FUE surgery: 2700
Anaesthesia: procedure was done under local anaesthesia
Pain: no to minimal for both FUE AND SCALP MICRO PIGMENT.
33 Male
Side by side comparison was done for hair transplant result at 1 year ( sapphire fue ) -6000 grafts including scalp and beard donor area
Then patient wanted to optimise result even more .we did 3 sessions of GFC AND ONE SESION OF SCALP MICROPIGMENT
Procedure: sapphire fue 6000 grafts one first sitting. On follow ups 3 sessions of GFC and 1 session of SMP
Pain: no to minimal
Result: final result at one and half year
Done FUT 3 years back
We had done FUE from scalp plus beard grafts: 5300 total grafts
Result is at 10 months
Very poor coverage plus very average looking hairline post his first surgery by Dr XYZ.
We have three challenges:
- poor recipient site, as grafts were implanted with lot of scars in first surgery: we could overcome by using high quality slit maker, sapphire blade which has minimal tissue damage, less scars and fast healing
- we had poor donor area: we did use beard grafts to cover the entire scalp
- very poor hairline: we had to extract lot of grafts from the hairline and we could also manage to save those grafts, we implanted those grafts back to area where it is needed the most
Result is at 6 months, final result is expected around 12-14 months
Difficulty in this case: grade 7 plus poor donor area
So in such scenario, we always have to look for other donor area. (Beard plus scalp donor area)
Result is after 10 months post sapphire FUE
Scalp plus beard donor area 3500 plus 1400 grafts
Total 4900 grafts were planted.
Result is seen after 8 months
