Hair loss, also called alopecia, can start at almost any age as you enter adulthood. You can start losing your hair as early as your late teens and early 20s. But you might have a full head of hair with almost no thinning or balding until well into your 50s and 60s.

There’s a lot of variation from person to person. But the general consensus around balding is that the older you get, the more likely you’ll see signs of balding. This quiz will assess your current condition and signs of balding to give you an estimate of how soon can you expect to experience balding.

    1. How old are you?

    2. How many hairs are you losing now?

How do I count the hairs I lose on a daily basis?

You can determine your daily hair loss in three steps:

    • Each morning, count how many hairs you find on your pillow.

    • Then comb out your hair over the sink using a comb or a brush. Count the number of hairs in the sink and in the comb/brush.

    • Repeat this every evening.

The total of these three counts will give you your daily hair loss.
